The Vienna Business Agency's digitalisation funding (Förderung Digitalisierung) supports Vienna SMEs with projects that digitalise existing workflows, for example with digital interfaces and a new workflow. The funding rate is at most 50 % of the recognised costs, and the funding is capped at €50,000 per project. External development counts as an eligible cost.
Funded projects build on a comprehensible digitalisation plan. I supply the technical part: which process changes, what gets built, what it costs. The company submits the application. The project must not start before the application is submitted.

Data flows between inventory, shop, CRM or accounting instead of being typed in twice.
Internal Tools and Workflows
A process that runs on spreadsheets and email today gets its own application, with roles and a clear status for every case.
Generated Documents
Quotes, contracts or property exposés are built from the data instead of being laid out by hand.
Customer Portals
Customers handle requests, bookings or uploads themselves, directly in the system behind them. The programme page names customer contact as an area where the switch to digital solutions is funded.
The Business Agency's funding experts can tell you in a consultation whether your project meets the funding criteria. Whether it is funded is decided by an independent jury, which discusses all projects submitted in the same quarter and recommends the best ones. There is no approval before that decision.
WHAT IS NOT FUNDED
- Creating or renewing a website, a webshop as a measure on its own
- Internal staff costs
- Buying standard hardware and standard software
- A project that was started before the application was submitted
HOW IT RUNS
Conversation
We look for the process that costs the most time today. You clarify in the Business Agency's consultation whether it meets the funding criteria.
Plan and Quote
I write the technical part of the digitalisation plan and a quote with a cost breakdown.
Submission
You submit through the Business Agency's online portal: the funding application, the application confirmation, the de-minimis declaration and the latest annual financial statements or income statement. For items above €10,000 net, cost estimates are added. You can submit at any time until 31 December 2026. Applications that are complete by a deadline are processed together. It usually takes two months until you know the result.
Implementation
I start the implementation only after you have submitted. The project may run for up to two years, and up to 50 % of the approved funding can be paid in advance.
